Replacement compatibility

Replacement form factor and motion hardware

EpiTech motion-controller replacements match the form factor of the older Veeco model they are intended to replace. The motion system uses EpiTech motors and cables with metal screw-together connectors.

Specify the controller model and mechanism being replaced when discussing the motion configuration.

Controller features

Standard synchronization output

The rotation controller includes a home-pulse output as standard. Program the pulse width from 1 to 200 milliseconds to synchronize in situ data collection with substrate rotation.

Separate rotation and position controllers

The CAR configuration uses two SmartMotion controllers. One controls the rotation axis and the other controls the position axis, each with its own front panel.

Position and rotation calibration

Calibrate position and rotation angle quickly, and reset zero without recalibrating the safe range of motion.

Backlash and gear-ratio settings

Backlash compensation and an adjustable gear ratio match the controller to your manipulator.

Startup and motor enable

Boots in seconds, with a front-panel enable button to disable the motor at once.
